Cherubs at the RYA Dinghy Show
This year saw two brand new Cherubs on display at the Dinghy Show last weekend. These were 'The Subtle Knife'(2693), a Cardinal Sin design, built by Aardvark and the first Cherub Daemon (2694) built by Hartley Laminates.
Both boats attracted lots of attention from Cherub sailors past, present and future, as well as interest from friendly faces in the yachting media and the RYA.
I would like to thank everyone in the class who put in so much effort to make the stand and the boats look amazing, and to all those who spent time manning the stand and talking to our visitors. Special thanks go to
- Rich Taylor for the FABULOUS boat
- Hartley Laminates for the FABULOUS OTHER boat
- Tony Arens from Velocitek for the GPS units
- Roland and Hayley Trim for AV support
- Tom Kiddle and Arty Luke for visuals (DVD)
- Dan Kemble for visuals (stills)
- Ben Howett for the flyers
- Daryl Wilkinson for the original stand furniture
- Tony & Tom for the build-up
- Ben & Callum for the breakdown and overnight coah endeavours.
- Stu Tinner for the Chilli
- Ghislain, Cedric and Loick for the cross channel day-trip!
The Hartley Laminates boat turned a lot of heads….
….especially the incredibly simple internal layout.
The Subtle Knife knocked the spots off other boats' interior decor!
ISAF Women's Olympic skiff contender….
Knackered at the breakdown. Thanks Velocitek our new sponsors.
