Competition rules
* A mainly edible birthday cake to celebrate 60 years of the Cherub.
- Cakes to be designed to fit within the scaled “box” rule. The scale is 1inch per foot resulting in a plan of 12“x 6” (with a maximum height of 21“).
- Deviations from the box that are justifiable within the scaled cherub design rules are welcomed.
- The published rules will in no way be comprehensive and any query as to the applicability should be made in advance to the UK Cherub class measurer.
- Cakes should be delivered to the Cherub Class Stand by 1pm on the Saturday of the Dinghy show (Saturday 5th March, Alexandra Palace).
- Judging will be held after 2pm on the Saturday of the Dingy show with announcement of the winner (s) that day.
- Entries will be cut and given away during the show (the winning will be displayed whole until an hour before the end of the show).
- Entry is free and open to all. A phone number or email address must be submitted alongside each entry.
- Each entry will be allocated an entry number and judging will be conducted without reference to the identity of the entrant.
- Entrants will be labelled after judging with the identity/label of the entrant's choice. However proof of identity will be required for each entry 1),
- Multiple entries are permitted.
Prizes
Allen have generously offered prizes for this competition. The prizes will be awarded as follows:
- “Best Cake”
- “Best interpretation”
As decided by the judging panel (Penny Clarke, Allen representatives and the UKCCOA President) .
