Ronin will launch tomorrow under her the new Cherub father and daughter team of Ellen and Chris Flewitt.
venue will be Locks sailing Club, Southsea if anyone's free and fancies dropping by there is a slim chance Poppy will be available for a jolly.

Thanks to Roland, Ronin has has tasted the water of Langstone harbour [Chi harbours quieter neighbour], albeit very slowly. Unfortunately there was not enough wind for a proper sail saturday and we spent this morning fixing velcro to re-secure the spini sock back in place which entailed several hours of scrapping off old glue, by which time what wind there was had vanished. I also seemed to spend a lot of time chatting to other sailors who were gathering around like bees to a honey pot, so the mornings tinkering turned into a full day of getting nothing much done. We will be comming to the inlands, as much to get some help getting the boat set up right as to race. Unfortunately I'm away working and Ellen is at a Topper open another weekend, so the inlands will effectively be our first sail, so F3 and sunshine please.

Cheers Chris

Welcome to the class to both of you, Ronin is a great boat there shouldn't be too much to set up for you. Look forward to meeting you at the Inlands, I also hope for sunshine and a good breeze.

Chris very kindly omits that I rigged the kite wrong. The buttock shaped kite made the outing even slower than it should have been in 2-5 knots of breeze.

Can't wait to see this pair at the Inlands - Chris is very modest, but can definitely handle the boat and little E is definitely super-crew in the making.

Hi Chris, Welcome to the class.
You have bought a fine ship. It would be a dereliction of duty if I didn't encourage you to join the class association. You will get access to the members side of the forum and it will also cover you for next year too. The details and form can be found here: http://www.uk-cherub.org/doku.php/shop?&#online_shop.
Unfortunately I will not be there at the Inlands but I hope to meet you at a blast or at an event next year. (or even at Hayling for some racing over the winter if you would like to)
