27 boats turned up for the second SSR event of 2006 held at East Lothian YC in North Berwick. A mixed fleet of Musto Skiffs, 49ers, 29ers L4000s an Int 14 and a Cherub were greeted by sunshine and a good wind for the first race on Saturday. The Cherubbers of Primal Scream were enjoying the first race, swapping places with the Keilder based 29er of Fergus and enjoying the steady wind and flat water of North Berwick, till a loud bang from the back of the boat on the last downwind leg singled a return to the shore for repairs to the Gantry which had partially detached from the deck.

The rest of the boats enjoyed the racing, and although the wind dropped slightly during the day the weather gods were smiling on the fleet. This was especially true for the 6 Musto Skiffs who at the end of the racing hoisted spinnakers to go sightseeing around the Bass Rock, while they were going around the Rock the wind reversed itself giving them a long kite ride home in time for a BBQ.

Sunday was cloudy with a lighter wind than Saturday so Sunday's racing was mostly a matter of hiding from the tide and avoiding the holes in the wind. The Cherub was back in action but struggling with the lighter winds and a tencency to find all the holes.
