Exultant had her first post summer play today. Wind never above a 3 and from many directions all at once.

3 sails made much more fun by the addition of lots of fishing boats, sadly despite many attempts we failed to catch one on the pole.

Badgers' borrowed main delivers bags more power than the defective one. We can now post a recipe for a home build mast that you can go and buy a set of Hyde's for - the Banksy main also looks like it might work now it has a luff cut to the mast with rig tension on.

Many thanks to Tim N. for the loan of Badgers' main.

On the shore we also met a lovely young lady who told us how much fun she used to have in peanuts (a few years back, when she was winning things). Sadly my memory for names means I scraping to remember her name, but she would be happy to consider dusting down the trap harness for Lee on Solent.

If you are reading this please email me via the links to the left - I really would be happy to take you for a sail - Hayley and I would also cook dinner.

Roland, Get that young ladies name and number, come on turn on the charm - she's an ideal demographic for people we're trying to attract to Lee.

Surely not Jill Hows (she may have a different surname now). I can't think of anyone else who did any winning in Peanuts, but that was thirty something years ago... There's a photo of Jill on this page. https://web.archive.org/web/20040306051130/http://www.sailingsource.com/cherub/2k2showreport.htm

The very same (although she looks younger than in that photo). Now I have a name I'll get chasing.

Is it me or was it cold today? The car said 1 degreee, there was large lumps of ice on the cover and H complained that her fingers were numb before we had delivered the kit bags to the club house.

Short, but fun sail. Revised "banksy" main is nuts, but at least it now sort of works. We came in after 30 minutes to adjust the outhaul and suddenly the power was back on. The ice flaking out of the chute during the hoist was a reminder why it was always going to be a short session.

Both H and I have forgotten how to sail (cue comments on the "forgot" aspect ).

Respect to you both for sailing in this weather, it is definitely brass monkeys
out there.
As for forgetting how to sail we are in the same camp!
