HI Guys

I hope there will be a few teams out sailing in this event at your local clubs.

Please let us know who's sailing, where and also how you do.

The class may find a prize for the top placed Cherub in the event.

Cheers

QMSC in the Cherub is the plan though may be modified depending on course/weather

Iossc in the old cherub with Ben as Dean is on call, although that may change with the weather.

Sorry guys, national 12 at battle of the classes, just up the river from Weston, wooo

andy_peters

I don't think we did our PY any favours - beat 180 odd boats in the BB at QMSC on a quite unfavorable Cherub course - lots of white sail reaching.

Show off! Sorry, I mean, Well Done guys!

Congrats.

You know you may underestimate white sail reaching capability. Bethwaite records 49ers as being faster white sail reaching than with the kite up, and it wouldn't surprise me if Cherubs are the same because the fore and aft sails are very efficient and low drag and that big baggy thing that gets you down w/l courses isn't.

A course with lots of fully powered up white sail reaching may well suit Cherubs because you'll be planing properly, not stuck in the  top end of semi displacement like most classes.

Of course the fly in the ointment is managing to maintain the required level of sailing talent to keep the boat upright and physical effort to be able to drive the boat flat out all the way. Clearly you achieved that, so congratulations again.

Ended up in a Feva as wind was 5 gusting 6 and a little strong for us.

We had 47 boats at Largs, and would have loved it if we had as much as 5 Knots. We were close to aranging for a 1km down tide drag race just so we could do a race, but we got just enough wind to move. Decided to swap round for a laugh so Carol was steering and I was stuck up the front.

Thanks to Nobel for swinign swiftly into action, dealing with my binary communication and just saying yes to all the repairs.
Thanks also to Bloodaxe for the new case/board/less wobble. Moral of the story is - don't sail courses where you ground out the foils on a 3 sail reach!

What idiot did the damage?
Thanks

What idiot did the damage?

It was the inkeeper who did it himself.

"Nether-worldly denizens of the fourth dimension".  Brilliant.

And a very good video too :)

We did a similar thing with Eleanor
