Sticky Timetable

Saturday:

1100 Arrive + coffee.

1130 Collating of jobs to be done and what people want to see, and the allocation of leaders to jobs. Jobs include Boom making (leader = Gav), Pole finishing (leader = Paul), Board sorting (leader = Lucy), Mast repairing (leader = Will).

1200 Jobs begin: Prep work (polishing mandrels,

1300 Lunch.

1400 Completion of prep-work including cloth cutting.

1430 Serial talk-throughs of the upcoming stickiness.

1500 Get sticky! Parallel jobs until done.

Afterwards: Curry.

Sunday:

0900 Enjoy our handiwork, and do some finishing off including trimming, rubbing down and painting.

1300 Home time.

The structure is that the resin will need to go off overnight, so the main activity will be happening on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning (to see the results). In between there will be the inevitable curry-based restaurant trip.

Everyone will have a chance to get sticky under the supervision of class experts. Vacuum bagging and possibly resin infusion techniques will be explained and demonstrated.

Other activities will be foil-blank preparation, foil finishing, and the making of ultra-light fiddly bits such as trapeze handles, spreaders and the like.

Included will be the now familiar 'How do I?' clinic where members can bring along their sticky kit and with some help and advice proceed with the tricky parts of ongoing projects.
