Dave Roe

(aka “Davro”)

Designer, builder, sailor, engineer, iconoclast, visionaary, polymath, but not a dancer, Dave Roe was influential or pivotal in many developments in the Cherub class from about 1985 to 2002. Dave, although resting from sailing, is still involved in an advisory capacity to just about everyone in the class. Here is a list of som of his achievements:

• National Champion: 1989,1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1998,1999. Nine times!
• Designer of Italian Bistro and Pasta Frenzy
• Technical officer of the class association from ~1990-2004.
• Pioneer of garage engineering of exotics.
• Pioneer of home made carbon spars with Simon Roberts.
• Pioneer of home made carbon and foam foils.
